ABOUT THE BRAVE NEW GRADUATES ACADEMY
Over the course of 10 interactive sessions, you and other high school students from diverse communities across the U.S. will come together to engage in live virtual programming that equips you with diverse perspectives, informed advice & practical tools for navigating the college process and life after high school. Facilitated by Global Glimpse staff and featuring inspiring guest speakers, college mentors, and higher education experts, the Brave New Graduates Academy will provide you with the opportunity to:
Develop Tools to Navigate the College Process
From financial planning to selecting the best college experience for you, you’ll be equipped to navigate a brave new era in higher education.
Gain Insight from College Mentors & Leaders
Meet extraordinary leaders and mentors from diverse backgrounds and gain valuable insight and expert advice.
Identify What College Experience is Best For You
Collaborate with other diverse students and college alumni from across the country to build a supportive community and develop your college plan.
Improve your Mental & Physical Health
Participate in fun instructor-led wellness activities as well as techniques for lowering the stress of college.
Take Action To Make College More Accessible for All
Learn how to implement design thinking to take action to make college more accessible for students from all backgrounds.
The Brave New Graduates Academy is a live, high-energy global learning community that meets 2x a week after-school and on the weekend this Fall.
Nov. 14 - Dec. 19, 2020
10 sessions over the course of 5 weeks, twice a week
Wednesdays from 4-6pm PT / 7-9pm ET
Saturdays from 9-11am PT / 12-2pm E
*No session on Saturday, Nov. 28 (Thanksgiving holiday)
All sessions will be hosted on Zoom and the program will also include the integration of Google Classroom to enable extended learning before, during, and after the academy.
Certificate of Completion & Community Service Hours
Students who attend at least 80% or more of the live sessions & participate in a #CommunityActionChallenge will receive a certificate of completion & 20 Service Hours.
Tuition & Scholarships
The full tuition of a Brave New Graduates Academy is $795.
All eligible students will receive need-based scholarships of either $400 or $695 depending on your family income. Pay as little as $100 for a Brave New Academy!

Every live interactive 2-hour session of the Brave New Graduates Academy is designed to engage, inspire, and inform and will include the following session components:
Centered around the Academy theme, expert facilitators will provide you with key frameworks for cultivating your skills and abilities to navigate college, careers, life, and lead with empathy, agency, and global perspective.
During each session, you will have the opportunity to engage with extraordinary guest speakers and college mentors from the Global Glimpse community and around the world who will bring the session topics to life through their personal stories and college experiences. We are currently finalizing our Brave New Graduate speaker series.

SMALL MENTOR GROUPS
Global Glimpse is all about facilitating meaningful connections between people from different backgrounds, even in the virtual world. During the second half of each session, you will join a small breakout group led by a Global Glimpse community mentor. This diverse group of students from across the country will become your “BNA Squad” and you will meet with them each session to reflect, connect, and build community.
OUR COMMITMENT TO EQUITY
Global Glimpse’s mission is to make powerful learning opportunities accessible to students from all backgrounds and we will work to support students to participate in our virtual programs as equitably as possible.
SPECIAL OFFER: Register by October 15th and receive a 25% early bird discount!
Provide recorded sessions and make-up assignments for students who miss live sessions due to extenuating circumstances.
Provide etiquette for neutral Zoom backgrounds to minimize showcasing home situation differences.
Offer Mentor Office Hours for students to check-in or get additional support outside of the 2-hour session.
EMPLOYER CONFLICT SUPPORT
Offer to write a recommendation letter to an employer if a student has an employment conflict.
